NAGTAD Midyear Session

March 5, 2008, 1 pm EST.
"Pump Up the PowerPoint"

Some have called PowerPoint the greatest invention since anesthesia. It's a great tool, but often woefully underutilized and abused. In this fast, fun session we'll look at ways classroom trainers can get out of the bulleted-content box and into strategies for using visuals with impact, animations that teach, and approaches that provoke discussion and activity rather than passive viewing. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING this session: those who are interested in using PowerPoint for e-learning can stay on for a tour of tips and techniques for using PowerPoint as an inexpensive, easy-to-learn e-learning authoring tool. The additional time includes discussion of converting classroom content to engaging online experiences.

Presenter Jane Bozarth is the author of "Better than Bullet Points: Creating Engaging E-Learning with PowerPoint", "From Analysis to Evaluation: Tools, Tips, and Techniques for Trainers", and "E-Learning Solutions on a Shoestring". An internationally known presenter, she is the recipient of the Rooney Award for Innovation in State Government Practice and LOLA and Training Magazine Editor's Pick Awards for her synchronous training programs. Session producer is Kassy LaBorie.
