We asked our NAGTAD members which of their training programs/services are most popular with their customers and why. Here are the results.

Rob Virts from Montana: “The most requested is stress management (but I can only present this on my free time so I do not do it that often any more). I think because it is only an hour long and is extremely interactive and experiential."

Katy Cove from Kentucky: “Having participants use as the measure for popular, the two most popular are Structured Behavioral Interviewing and Facilitation Skills. By projects for our CPM program Project Management and Process Improvement are next in popularity."

Tracy Connelly from Delaware: “Emotional intelligence gets good reviews… most people like what they do but sometimes struggle with the people.”

Performance Management: they leave with tools
Performance Management Online : easy access

Stress Management: they love to laugh and regain some perspective
Administrative Professionals Conference: they love being appreciated!
Certified Public Managers Program: because it is perceived as being a way to prepare yourself for advancement.

Ted Ball from Louisiana :

Developing a Motivated Workgroup (avoids the theoretical stuff like the needs pyramid and instead focuses on motivation as one of the two components of job performance – very practical, very applicable stuff)
Managing & Improving Work Processes (eye-opener about first mapping, then improving a work process [work stream of tasks])
Effective Job Interviewing (excellent class in content and delivery that helps out most folks who take it)
Effective Presentation Skills (taught rarely, but universally appreciated by the small number of folks who need it for their work)
Developing Effective Teams, part 2 (probably because it uses the MBTI survey to do skill building within the framework of interpersonal and intragroup communication

Laurette Burdyl from South Carolina : ”All of our certification programs: The Associate Public Manager, the Public Professional Development, the Human Resources Development and the Certified Public Manager Programs. Agencies and participants report that the credential is meaningful and that the content and instructors are high quality. CPM is used as a succession planning strategy in agencies.
